We made awesome finger paints today, perfect for Henry's love of mashing gooey messes between his fingers and exploring everything with his mouth. He could seriously eat handfuls of this stuff and I'm positive it would not harm him. Also, it's surprisingly easy to clean up. Win!
* Baby Safe Finger Paint *
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 cups water
food coloring
Mix the cornstarch and water in a small saucepan and slowly bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once mixture is thickened and clear, remove from stove and let cool. Pour into separate containers and add desired amount of food coloring (warning: too much will stain hands and not enough will not stick to the paper...)
* This batch turned out a little chunkier than usual, which actually ended up being a good thing because Henry could pick it up easier. Next time I think I'll add a bit more water though...
Have fun!
