It's just been too hot to do much during the day this summer. One of our current favorite things has been driving to the beach before sunset, the only time it's somewhat bearable to be outside. Last time we went, we promised Henry a huge ice cream cone and didn't follow through because he forgot and, well, we we'rent exactly stoked about the whole sugar before bedtime thing anyway. Of course, he remembered as soon as we got home and then we felt like big jerkfaces. So this time, we made sure he got his ice cream cone. Garrison and I held onto each other's wastes and watched our not so little boy running in the waves and eating his cone. How did he get so big, so fast? This thought has been in my mind a lot these days.
I love love these family summer nights.
Not related, but I have to brag...This last semester was crazy! I'm doing really really well in school and thought for sure that this summer would bring me my first B. I worked so hard, staying up until 2 in the morning some nights just to make sure I had my assignments right. I took this picture last week at 2:30 am, basically sums up how I felt the majority of this semester:
NOT ANYMORE. Just got my grades back and I got all As! I deserve to brag because this stuff is not easy once your two year old realizes that your technology is also a magical portal to Barney and Angry Birds. School starts again in two weeks and I have this huge test for teacher certification coming up so I'll be getting things ready for that and studying super hard. I'm so close to being done! I'm almost a teacher! :)
