Yesterday my mom asked me if I knew how long Henry's "invisible leash" was. She said that every kid has one- the distance a baby will venture away from you before turning around to make sure you are still there.
So I tested it at the park, sat down on the grass and just let him go. And guys? He walked clear across the field before finally turning around to show me a handful of muddy leaves he then stuffed in his mouth. My independent boy with the longest invisible leash ever... I think we're going to have our hands full.

yeah, wyatt's is pretty long too. that's why i'm thankful for this fence in my backyard. i don't think i've ever seen him look back.
i was seriously surprised! like i thought for sure he'd look back after two feet but he kept going. i feel like he would have gone further too if he hadn't found all of those dirty leaves...
Haha, I feel you on that. I'm starting to think our middle child doesn't even HAVE an invisible leash. She will just straight up run away to the point I have never been able to wait and see if she'll turn around before I'm freaking out and going after her.
the only time Lily has an invisible leash is when she is at the beach. and that's scary!!
That's just because he is so confident in knowing that you will always be right there! You know what would change this.......................................a baby sister.

lol that's so awesome. i think that just means he's comfortable in his surroundings. i haven't tested Austin's out yet, but i'm gonna have to try this. for the most part, he doesn't even venture very far. he's always just interested in what's right around him or whatever we have. lol
lol. Elle's leash is SUPER long too. She loves to run all around Barnes and Noble and she hardly ever looks back. :/

corb's invisible leash depends on where he is i think. i love this sequence of pictures and how he just keeps getting farther and farther away! ahah i think it means he feels safe and confident that he can go on and on.
You may need to get a huge invisible hooked cane for that dude : ) Lucky for me for now Addy stays right where I put her, except for a little roll over her or there. I'm going to have to remember to try this out when she is mobile. Thanks for posting!
This is very cool. I can not wait until Conner really gets the walking down and I can test this in the park behind our house. Just wanted to come and do my daily addicted voting haaha and tell ya to have a great week. Hope Mr. Henry is feeling A LOT better!

I did this with Eva in a soccer field and she never looked back - she ran behind the concession stand after she even. No way she could see me and I RAN to get her. My friend suggested it - while saying that it gets longer as they get older... LONGER??
yikes!! i am scared for when ellie is walking, adds a new meaning to heading to the park, right now she is completely content in the swing!
