Dear G

Dear G,

I know it's Friday night and we haven't seen much of each other this (very busy) week. I know I should be out watching TV with you and running my fingers through your hair on the futon. I know I should be drinking wine with you on the porch, talking about Henry and work and how much we miss our friends. And I know how lame it is to be going to bed so early tonight. But this week has really worn me out.

Tonight when I accidentally fell asleep after nursing Henry, you didn't wake me or ask me for a single thing. You didn't make me feel the least bit guilty for sleeping sooo early on a Friday night. Instead you peeked your head in our bedroom and whispered, "You guys just sleep...Is there anything I can get you?"

Thank you for always being so patient and understanding. You are so incredibly wonderful to me and H, it blows my mind every day. You are my best friend and I'm a very, very lucky girl.

Love,
A

p.s. I swear we'll get our weekends back soon...

Rocket Man

How cute is this boy? I recently started reading I Rock So What and can't seem to get enough of Jess and her adorable baby boy, Wyatt (don't you just love that name?) This picture of Wyatt cracks me up, I could seriously look at pictures of babies in sunglasses all day. ALL DAY! Appropriately Jess calls this photo, "The Rocket Man"...which I also totally love.

This Made Me Smile Today.

Melissa of the Dear Baby blog, posted this video yesterday. Seriously so hilarious, so I'm re-blogging it to share with all of you.

(Although, I must say I don't think I'd encourage my little girl to say things like, "Shut up old man" or "I'll break you..." Just to make a hilarious YouTube video. Yikes!)

Also, I added a few new pages to It's a Wonderful Life. They are links to pictures of our wedding as well as pregnant pictures of me and more (MORE?!) pictures of Henry! You can find them under the "It's a Wonderful Life" border at the top of the page. :)

Things I Think About at Three in the Morning...

Do babies ever get itchy? Can you even imagine how awful it would be if you were unable to scratch your itch?

H's New Trick

Henry's newest trick is making his toys bounce by kicking the bars on his play mat! We're so proud, I could watch him do this for hours. I swear we get more excited than he does every time he makes them move...

* don't worry, grandmas...h can't reach the bells yet. when he can, we'll take them off.

Last night I baked oatmeal, raisin, chocolate chip cookies. They are so good that I plan on having one with my coffee this morning. OH, how will I ever loose these last few pounds of baby weight if I keep baking cookies?? ::sigh::

Will you all pretty please vote for us today? Thanks!

Bubbles

I already really enjoy introducing Henry to things he has never seen before. I love watching the way he silently analyzes every new experience with those wide eyes and scrunched eyebrows of his.

Yesterday we took him outside and the children spent a good portion of the morning blowing hundreds of bubbles for him. H loved watching them float down in front of his face but hated it when they would pop on his chest. The squeals from the other barefoot children when the bubbles would pop only added to the excitement of this new experience.

Aren't bubbles so much fun?

Happy (4th) Birthday Bunz!!

Bunz the cat says, "It's MY birthday, I'll do whatever I want..."

We're Back!!

I am SO proud to say that Easter/miniature road trip was a success!! It was so much fun introducing Henry to his dad's side of the family and (of course) they all loved him. My absolute favorite was watching Henry's great grandpa hold him for the first time. He honestly couldn't stop smiling at his great grandson and Henry nestled comfortably right into the crook of his long arm. Henry slept at night better than he has in a long time and handled the car ride pretty well too! Oh my goodness there is SO, so much to write about that I'll spare you all my long winded stories and tell it in pictures instead.

The car ride started off like this...
And about half way in, started going something like this...

Luckily there was a rest stop nearby and we were able to pull over for a break. I can add "Rest stop parking lot" to my list of places I've breastfed Henry now! Is this one a little classier than "WalMart parking lot?"....probably not. Quick diaper change in the car and then we were ready for the second half of our trip: Easter Sunday, Henry got all dressed up in a one piece suit he was given as a gift from our neighbor. Watch out ladies! This little guy is one (hilariously) hot stud: Henry met his great aunt Lisa for the first time: And snuggled with his great grandpa Walt in the morning:

We finally had someone around to take a picture of all three of us! I look at this and think, "WOW, we have a baby?!":
Henry loved his great uncle Pat and gave him more smiles and conversation than anyone:
We can't wait to head down to Florida again. Next time we're there, Henry will be even bigger which is hard to believe! We are so lucky to have some family living so close, it makes the holidays a little less lonely....

Thanks for your votes while we were away!!

Happy Easter!

Henry's first Easter. Henry's first Easter. Henry's first Easter...WOW! This is really his first holiday too (we're not counting Valentine's Day or St. Patty's Day). I can already sense that holidays are going to be much more exciting with a baby to dress up and tote around.

We're headed down to Florida tomorrow morning to be with family. I am so excited for Henry to meet his great grandpa, great aunt, and second cousins! I am curious to see how he will handle the four hour car ride and how he'll take to sleeping in an unfamiliar place. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Christmas 2009 in Florida, I was 37 weeks pregnant here!

Look at my adorable little sister in her new Easter dress that she picked out at Macy's. Is there seriously anything cuter? Nope. You know your baby sis is growing up when she asks your mom to take her shopping for a special outfit and then on her own has to PICK OUT SHOES TO MATCH THE DRESS. I think the dress she found is super cute, does it come in my size Karli?

When I return, It's a Wonderful Life will (hopefully) be hosting our very first review/GIVEAWAY! Be sure to check back often for updates and information on how to enter as well.

Please don't forget to vote for us when we're gone! You can click any of the brown bars at the bottom of a post, or the brown button to the right.

We wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend. See you on Monday!
