That one time Henry ate an entire brownie before we realized it was made with shots of espresso.....

Makin it Rain
Omg, Henry has been so crazy lately! All that toddler stuff that people warn you about before your kid is even born? Totally true. Last week he was on our bed while I was getting his bath ready. He was using this stupid juice cup with a broken top that really, I should have thrown away already but it sort of works and we're cheap, so I've kept it around. Anyway, I knew he was jumping on our bed but I figured it was buying me some time so I let it go. When I went into our bedroom, this is what had happened:
SO MUCH JUICE! EVERYWHERE! Apparently he had been jumping and shaking his cup upside down the entire time. He thought it was the best thing ever as he bounced from puddle to puddle. He was laughing so hard that his eyes were filled with tears and all Garrison and I could do was try and act like we were disappointed while turning our backs every three seconds to hide our smiles.
His explanation when Garrison asked what had happened? "Juice falling down on bed, daddy!" (enter evil laughter).

Florida Weekend!
A few weekends ago we went down to Florida to see Garrison's family. We always have a ton of fun when we're there! We stayed the night in a hotel, watching cable and catching up with Garrison's sister Lindsay. And in the morning we (okay, I) went crazy on the continental breakfast. Seriously, don't get between me and a continental breakfast. I take it really seriously. I could eat a yogurt, a donut, cereal, and a waffle any day of the week but it just tastes better at a hotel? I don't know. I'm weird.
Henry got be around a baby the first day we were visiting and he actually did really well! Like, he wasn't a total bully. He shared her toys with her (ha!) and kept petting her on the head like she was a cute widdle puppy. And the day we left, they all surprised Henry with his first ever easter egg hunt in the backyard. He found 29 eggs, even though Aunt Lisa had only hid 28. Yeah, our kid rules the egg hunt.

The Zoo!
I feel like I'll actually write in this blog a lot more if I don't waste so much time editing photos. I like how finished they look when I'm done editing them but the amount of time I spend adjusting brightness and color levels is just dumb. It's boring, I hate it! And at this ridiculous rate that Henry's growing, I'd rather get our memories written down before I forget them. Soooooo, here's a bunch of unedited photos of our trip to the zoo with aunt Lindsay.

OH MY WOW. I have been so busy. Too busy. Classes end in like two weeks and I'm finishing up a bunnnch of student observation reports and Eric Carle lesson plans. I never thought it was possible to dislike that guy and his books until this week. Blahhhh. Here's a video of Henry singing his new favorite song until I get a chance to post the million awesome pictures I have been meaning to show you. I'll be back soon guys, promise!

At the Beach with Aunt Ninnie!
Hey mom. These glasses fit me when I was 9 MONTHS OLD. Buy me some new ones already!
I haven't blogged in so long! We've been hanging out with Garrison's sister since Wednesday and honestly, I just haven't felt like wasting a bunch of precious time editing photos and writing about what we've been up to. Having family and friends around is a rare thing and I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could.
This weekend we all went to the beach. I think it's nuts that we can comfortably walk in the ocean in April, but I love it and Henry did too. He basically went crazy, throwing sand and sprinting towards the ocean with that over-exaggerated toe pickup jig that kids do when they can't control themselves. I'm realizing that this summer is going to be more keeping him out of the water than leisurely getting sun in a lawn chair with a huge bag of chips. Two year olds take no prisoners.
